Paris-Calcutta 1923 is the inspiration of Sabyasachi’s summer couture . He never fails to impress us from the way he relates, defines and give references to his collection in his writings. This time the designer’s creations are inspired by bylanes of Chowringhee, smoky rooms, glamour and hedonistic style.

The ‘Akaash-tara’ saree which was worn by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 2009, it’s metallic red version worn by Deepika Padukone in 2015 and a recently updated version carried by Kim Kardashian is again being offered in this collection as a black jet-bead lehenga saree. Sabyasachi’s summer couture is not only offering exclusive new designs to the fashion industry but also recreating his existing creations.

We all loved Anushka Sharma’s lehenga at her wedding in Italy. Sabyasachi’s summer couture 2018 finally released the lehenga. Last year many people admired this pale blush lehenga.

The Benarasi butti..

The Benarasi butti made the latest appearance in the Sabyasachi’s Summer Couture 2018. Childhood memories have always been an inspiration to the designer. “Summer afternoons, the ladies in our colony used to play ‘Mahjong.’ It was a part of their kitty. Every week one lady would host a Mahjong session in her house. I used to look forward to these sessions in Mrs. Ghosh’s home. She was particularly fond of me and I used to sneak in with my mother to play with her enviable collection of tin cars.” says the designer.

He further says, ” For me, Mrs. Ghosh was Miss Havisham personified. Face dappled in peach with Max Factor compact, beetle juice staining her cracked lips, hair pouffed with copious amount of hairspray (which smelt absolutely repulsive), she used to turn up in the most incredible Benarasi sarees. And much to my amusement they were always torn and ripped, always in the wrong places. The idea of the classic Sabyasachi Benarasi butti saree must have germinated in one of those sultry afternoon Mahjong sessions. ”

The Black Organza Saree.

According to the designer, Sarees are worn by the Queen & Princesses of India and is an epitome of power dressing. The black organza saree paired with ‘Mombassa’ style blouse is an example of class. The simple and elegant attire is what every Indian girl adore, and Sabyasachi’s summer couture redefined the same.
